One Brick regularly receives feedback on our volunteers. We feel our volunteers and our event staff are awesome.

Here's why..
.

Because of you and One Brick, Kite Day was a huge success!!! Thank you once again for everything you did for us on Saturday. If you felt that the museum crowed, you were right. We had over 70,000 people walk through our doors.  4,000 of those came just for Kite Day and over a thousand people took the time to do a hands-ons.  We were extremely busy, and everyone handled it wonderfully.

It is because of volunteers like you and organizations like One Brick, we can offer programs like these and reach that many people.

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

-- Agustin Baldioli, Family Programs, Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum

The crew that came out from One Brick was amazing. Everyone hadenergy, enthusiasm and were here, there and everywhere helping out and going above and beyond the call of duty! We had amazing feedback of the volunteers on Sunday. I have received quite a few shout outs that go out to the volunteers! So thank you, thank you, thank you! Kelly who was working with One Brick on the bike loading was astounded by how efficient and helpful each of them was. Every time I was there, they were all working super hard, and I cannot thank them enough!!

Everyone had excellent leadership, work ethic and dedication. You have definitely made your mark! 2879 Riders and 11.1 million dollars raised!! Impossible without people such as you lending a helping hand!

Please give yourself a pat on the back and know how important you were to this year's 2011 Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer!

Thanks you again and again :)

-- Stephanie Nash,Volunteer Coordinator,Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer

As a volunteer coordinator, I have worked with hundreds of groups seeking volunteer opportunities at Food & Friends. One Brick is one of the best organized and well run community partners I have the pleasure of working with year round. I have learned I can count on One Brick staff and site leaders to communicate with me effectively before a service date and toprovide excellent support to volunteers on the service day. We have several evening groups that struggle to find site leaders or struggle to bring the correct number of volunteers. These are never issues with our One Brick groups. It's a great relief to know One Brick volunteers are on the calendar.

I am continuously impressed by the caliber of leadership and volunteers that come with One Brick. When we have needed more volunteers on a particular month, One Brick is able to help us meet those kitchen needs. When we have needed to alter a future date, I have been thoroughly impressed with the flexibility of One Brick in accommodating our sometimes fluctuating schedule. I can't say enough about what a joy it is to work with One Brick each month.

-- Jane Yamaykin, Volunteer Coordinator, Food & Friends

Oh my! THANK YOU and your wonderful crew. I can't believe you were able to get as much done in two hours as you did! What a great help you guys were and we can't thank you enough.

I will ask for you again cause you guys are a sure asset.

-- Jeanette Oswald, The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Team in Training

Thank you so much for the wonderful job One Brick volunteers did to make the 10th Anniversary Celebration of the Human Rights Project at the Urban Justice Center a success! I really do not know how we would have pulled off the event without your help. You were professional, organized, proactive, gracious and so easy to work with. As a result of your presence and capabilities, we were able to tend to other aspects of the event without any worry. We cannot thank you enough.

-- Ejim Dike, Human Rights Project

Children’s Fairyland is America’s first storybook theme park. Fairyland is dedicated to stimulating a child's imagination, creativity and desire to learn through fairytales, sets, play-acting, animals and related programs. Over 166,000 guests visit the park each year.

We simply can’t imagine doing all the great things we do without the help of One Brick volunteers. Not only do they come with a great set of talents, but with an attitude of enthusiasm and cooperation.

-- C.J. Hirschfield, Executive Director - Fairyland

In 2010, One Brick allowed us to move from a monthly pantry to a pantry twice a month. This year, in 2011, One Brick allowed us to increase even further to a weekly pantry. Since we have become a weekly pantry, we have now registered 500 families to receive food each week, though we usually serve closer to 400. Each month, One Brick helps us serve between 350 and 800 families each month, and we certainly would not have been able to make either the leap to twice a month in 2010 or to weekly in 2011 without One Brick. Prior to One Brick's involvement with the Excelsior Community Food Pantry in 2010, we were serving about 200-250 families a month. Now we serve more than 1500 families each month.

But, beyond the numbers, One Brick volunteers are consistently such a joy to work with. I look forward to "One Brick Saturdays" because I know we will have volunteers who are eager to work and passionate about making the world a better place! OneBrickers do not shy away from any task and have a positive attitude that pervades their work.

-- Miriam Dolin, Excelsior Community Food Pantry

On behalf of the staff and board of directors of Randall Museum and Randall Museum Friends, thank you for volunteering for HANDS ON HOLIDAY CRAFTS DAY at the Randall Museum.

It would have been impossible for so many people to participate in so many activities without One Brick! It is so great to be able to send one email and get a crew of phenomenal and motivated volunteers.  Special shout out to shift captain Richard.  All of you were wonderful whether you helped to set-up, lead crafts, sell tickets, food and retail items, take show tickets or clean-up.  Butmore important your energy, good spirits, flexibility, responsibility and hard work allowed everyone to have a great time.  Thank you for serving as Randall ambassadors for the day.

-- Nathan Robinson, Randall Museum Friends

This was one of the best volunteer teams we’ve ever had! I would like to give a special acknowledgement to One Brick team who are now veterans of this event and our veterans/Roadies who showed us all how to make it work! We also had many committed individuals who came through to make the event go smoothly and who stayed to the very end to make sure that the whole event is packed up nice and neat (a special shout out to those of you who did janitorial with me!) Hardcore volunteers ROCK!!! I LOVE your commitment and that your volunteering spirit is so strong!

-- Emily Mariko-Sanders, Special Events Volunteer Manager, AidsLifeCyle

All of us at AIDS Emergency Fund want to thank the wonderful One Brick volunteers who showed up at the Armory bright and early on Sunday morning to help set up for AEF's Castro County Fair. They were absolutely wonderful!  One Brick volunteers obviously know a thing or two about balloons, and they helped turn the Armory into a beautiful, festive place.

The team leaders, Edna and Dwayne were a delight to work with. AEF has a very small staff, so for an event of this size and scope we had to reach outside our own group of volunteers to recruit reinforcements. One Brick came through with shining colors and did a brilliant job. We were delighted to have them with us, and look forward to working with One Brick again soon.

-- Joanie Juster, Volunteer Coordinator AIDS Emergency Fund

One Brick volunteers made it possible to register upwards of 400 families who attended our MathFest event. The volunteers in registration received kudos from our staff for their great attitude and competence in handling the inevitable "gotchas" that come up.

I had a great experience working with the One Brick folks! They were total pros and made my job as crew chief really easy. I love One Brick comes prepared with a list of attendees and name tags. The One Brick volunteers all asked great questions, and they were all cheerful in working with kids and stressed parents.

-- Holly, Volunteer Crew Chief, Explorations in Math

One Brick volunteers help at our first fundraising event, a wine tasting for 250 people with 40 wineries, held at Bell Harbor Conference Center.  The 15 volunteers were fabulous.  They acted as greeters, sold drawing tickets and assisted as spotters for our "Raise the Paddle" portion of the fundraiser.  Several of the volunteers raised paddles to make personal donations.  One of the volunteer's employers even matched his individual donation.  One Brick volunteers helped RFH make twice what we had projected in revenue from this event.

One Brick volunteers are dependable, gracious and polite.  It is a pleasure and an honor to work with you and we look forward to their help with future events.

-- Jacqueline Lorenz, Development Director, Rotary First Harvest

One Brick has been sending 15-30 volunteers to our facility the 4th Tuesday of every month for the past few years.  Volunteers have repacked and sorted thousands of pounds of food drive donations, onions, apples, canned salmon, oranges, potatoes, carrots, watermelons, diced peppers, and zucchinis.  There’snothing the One Brick volunteers won’t happily tackle on their Tuesday evening session.

-- Erin Stockdill, Volunteer Coordinator, Food Lifeline

On behalf of the YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago, I want to thank all the One Brick volunteers who helped us with the Easter Egg Hunt at the High Ridge YMCA. Jill Grimshaw, Executive Director, was so impressed by your creativity and enthusiasm as you filled 480 Easter eggs with goodies, created an egg hunt area in the gymnasium, decorated egg hunt paper bags for the children, helped with registration of the participants, and led fun games for the children and families. You were a big reason the event was so much fun for the families who attended. Jill also reported that this year’s Easter Bunny was late, so you graciously said one of the One Brick volunteers would take on the role at next year’s event!

We consider ourselves very fortunate to count One Brick among our most steadfast volunteer partners, and we look forward to future opportunities to work with you in support of our vital, community-based YMCA programs and services.

-- Linda Dean, Director of Volunteerism

Our organization, Northwest Art Alliance has been around since 1989 when 30 artists pooled their money to launch the company to produce Best of the Northwest art and fine craft shows.  Since becoming the Executive Director, I realized we were broken organizationally and, as a for-profit, did not qualify for grants, sponsorships and had a hard time attracting volunteers.  In 2010 the founders donated their shares and we became a nonprofit but since we are so new to this, we don’t have the army of volunteers it takes to run a show of this magnitude.  In comes One Brick last year to save the day!! We had 145,000 square foot venue that we needed to mark 10’ booth spaces.  It would have taken our small staff of 2 and a little circle of family and friends several days to accomplish this.  The bad part was that the venue was going to bill us $500/hour if we went over the 4 hour allotted time.  One Brick sent 18 volunteers and we had everything marked in under 3 hours – we even had time to enjoy the view and a lunch and make new friends.  The group was so prepared and efficient – really a talented group.  And they were interested in the show and many got free passes to enjoy the event.  It was a great experience working with OB. Thank you!

-- Pamela Rembold, Executive Director, Northwest Art Alliance

One Brick has been a pleasure to work with and have been loyal, repeat supporters of FareStart. The organization has provided us with a large group of volunteers on a monthly basis – not an easy task! We are thankful for the time, hard work and passion One Brick volunteers have consistently demonstrated in support of our foodservice training program, and these groups have helpedFareStart achieve our mission of empowering homeless men and women to change their lives in a tangible way.

-- Carlene DeitsVolunteer Coordinator, FareStart

One Brick volunteers are amazing! We are SO lucky to partner with them!

-- Melissa Bang-Knudsen, Volunteer Coordinator, Treehouse

We at Lifelong AIDS Alliance have loved having One Brick volunteers! They have helped us get so much of our extra work done and have been a huge help with some of our harder to fill volunteer opportunities.  They have volunteered doing setup for our special events, such as Gay Bingo and The Seattle AIDS Walk.  They also helped us to prepare condom kits (which we use in our education and prevention efforts to stop the spread of HIV) at a condom kit party.  The volunteers are always enthusiastic and willing to help and they seem to have a fun time.  One Brick always gives us the amount of volunteers they guarantee they can get us and have been very reliable. Several One Brick volunteers have signed up to do additional tasks with us after they found out about our organization through One Brick.  It’s been a great resource for us to use to recruit additional volunteers!

-- Anthony Bohn, Volunteer Coordinator, Lifelong AIDS Alliance

I am so happy that One Brick volunteers are helping with our Last Saturday Food Distribution every month! Knowing that I have a large group coming every month is such a relief.  The volunteers who come are dedicated, responsible and willing to work. We have come to rely on your group and could not serve the numbers of families we serve without your help.

Your volunteers have been willing to use their own vehicles to go to our other sites to pick up additional food.  They have lifted heavy boxes of food and they have always done it with good attitudes and friendly demeanor.  I will just mention some of the extenuating circumstances that your volunteers have gone through with us in the past year with no  loss of productivity : collapse of another long term volunteer on site in the middle of the event, blizzard, rain storms, hurricane and heat above 100 degrees.  Some of our recipients have issues and are not always pleasant but the volunteers are always kind and always willing to do the job that needs doing. Many of your volunteers return and we count on their experience.

Knowing that One Brick will be bringing a group of volunteers frees me to do the other planning and ordering for the event because I know I won't have to go on a last minute search for volunteers.  We serve between 200-300 families each month; families who desperately need the food we are providing to make it to the next week and One Brick helps make that possible.

-- Deborah Patterson, ALIVE

One Brick Orlando is invaluable in assisting The Mustard Seed to sort, organize, and relocate clothing and household furnishings for the families we help everyday.  Your volunteer work at our organization directly supports our efforts in helping individuals return to a life of self-sufficiency.  With the generous contribution of volunteers like you our efforts are multiplied on many levels – Thank you for your endorsement of our work!

-- Michelle Lyles, Executive Director, The Mustard Seed of Central Florida

On behalf of the YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago, I want to thank all the One Brick volunteers who helped us with the April 3 'Easter Egg Hunt and Family Brunch' at the High Ridge YMCA. -- Linda Dean, Director of Volunteerism, YMCA Metropolitan Chicago

Thank you so much for adding much needed energy and momentum to the courtyard project. I'd love to set up a standing volunteer day for One Brick at Rolling Terrace. Lord knows we need the help, and you guys are such an inspiration to the kids and the whole community!

-- Alison Risso, KaBoom!

I just wanted to reach out again and thank you for you precious time in supporting us! It meant more than you know in terms of helping our teachers get ready. I have received such amazing feedback on how great our volunteers are! I feel extremely lucky to have found One Brick! It truly is the generosity of people like you that prove what can happen when people come together for the common good.
